Our Philosophy
We don’t rush childhood. We recognize and honuor each child’s individuality, allowing them the necessary time and opportunities to develop at their own pace. We value children as competent and capable; full of curiosity and knowledge.
Did you know that 80% of your child’s mental development takes place before they’re eight years old? The education model you choose for them during this time really makes a difference. You’ll see calm, hard-working, responsible, respectful small people absorbed in their work because they choose what to do, within boundaries.
Our approach is thoughtful and balanced, always keeping in mind the developmental appropriateness and best practices in our field. We blend together the Reggio Emilia Approach and the Emergent Curriculum philosophy, which reflects our commitment to providing the best possible social, emotional, physical and cognitive foundations for your child.
We nurture and challenge, support and encourage, listen and engage. We care about what children think, how they feel, and what they have to say about their world. We are dedicated to providing children with a rich and stimulating environment that supports their growth in every way. It’s what we do; it is who we are.
Our programming is carefully designed through project-based learning, which emerges from children’s discussions, community or family events, and their known interests. Throughout a project, our teachers guide children through the project as they determine the group’s investigative methods, select mediums to demonstrate their learning and make it visible, all while ensuring that children have ample opportunities for development in areas such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, literacy, numeracy, music, creative expression, science, and social/emotional growth.
